The title of the book is 1000 Grands Prix - 70 ans de Formule 1 and it was published on 21 November 2019 by Solar. The book has 176 pages. It is written by Stéphane Barbé with images by L'Équipe journalists.
The book has been released to mark the anniversary of the 1000 Grand Prix that Formula 1 has passed in 2019. The book follows the first season, which began in 1950, and introduces us to the first great drivers, such as Giuseppe Farina, who finished the first Formula 1 season as World Champion, or Alberto Ascari, who became the first multiple World Champion driver by winning the 1952 and 1953 seasons, not to mention the legendary Juan Manuel Fangio, who won four titles (1951, 1954, 1955, 1956 and 1957) with 4 different teams: Alfa Romeo, Maserati, Mercedes and Ferrari: Alfa Romeo, Maserati, Mercedes and Ferrari. The book also looks at the rivalry between Niki Lauda and James Hunt, as seen in the film Rush, which began in 1975 with Lauda's first title, followed by two more in 1977 and 1984 with Hunt winning his only title in 1976 after an incredible season between these two drivers. Another rivalry dealt with in this book is that between the Brazilian Ayrton Senna and the Frenchman Alain Prost, which lasted from 1983 to 1994. This rivalry came to an end when Ayrton Senna had a tragic accident on the Imola circuit in 1994. More recently, the book recounts the more recent arrival of the great German constructor Mercedes, with the domination of this constructor and its drivers lasting since 2013 with the change in technical regulations.
