Who are the characters?
Played by actor Chris Hemsworth, James Hunt was known for his flamboyant lifestyle and daring approach to racing. He was charismatic and loved by the media and fans and had a reputation as a party boy. Niki Lauda, played by Daniel Brühl, was a meticulous, disciplined and pragmatic driver. He was less popular than his rival, but his methodical approach to racing earned him a great deal of respect from the Formula 1 paddock and fans alike.

The 1976 season was marked by exciting races, terrifying accidents and difficult weather conditions. One of the most important moments in the film is Niki Lauda's accident at the German Grand Prix. This accident was very impressive, as the car immediately burst into flames and Lauda was seriously burnt and almost lost his life.
